APNA Honors Celebrates A Nanny for U

APNA Honors Celebrates A Nanny for U: 2014 Community Service Honoree

A Nanny for U, one of Washington’s largest and most reputable placement agencies, is deeply rooted in their community. They are an agency that believes in building relationships and giving back to others. As a staff, they are constantly seeking ways to get more involved in their community, support families and children, and connect with other like-minded organizations.   anfu

Here are just a few recent examples of ANFU’s service to their local community: A Nanny for U has supported the Detlef Schrempf Foundation for over 15 years. Serving as the fundraising entity for Northwest children’s charities, ANFU believes in DSF’s mission to support local families and “give back to a community that has given them so much.” For the last for years, ANFU has been the co-sponsor for DSF’s Leprechaun Leap. In addition, ANFU has donated childcare and items for events including the Holiday Cruise and the Celebrity Gala & Auction.

Owner Rebecca Dyk has been a long-time supporter and champion of the Program for Early Parenting Support (PEPS) groups in Seattle. Not only has she lead the group, she’s also served on the board. Further, A Nanny for U has been a sponsor of PEPS participating in events such as the PEPS Annual Luncheon and PEPSapalooza. The staff at A Nanny for U regularly speaks at local parenting and childcare groups offering valuable solutions for new parents.

For the past five years A Nanny for U has partnered with Childhaven -a nonprofit that works with children of abuse and neglect-as their childcare sponsor, offering qualified caregivers for their Annual Tackle Child Abuse Dinner & Auction. In 2009 and 2010 A Nanny for U was the Kids Zone sponsor at the Walk of Hope, a benefit for the City of Hope.

And not to be forgotten, A Nanny for U also works tirelessly to support the nannies in their community: ANFU knows that nannying can be an isolating career choice, thus for the last 3+ years they have hosted quarterly nanny events, open to all of their nannies, to encourage networking and support among childcare professionals. At their quarterly nanny events, their nannies are invited to come and bring a nanny friend. These events are free to their nannies and they have done everything from beach volleyball, Zumba classes, bowling, wine tasting, Theo Chocolate Tour,  and more.

In addition, for their employed backup care team of nannies, they host a quarterly dinners. In addition to the social component, they also take the opportunity to provide continued education and training to their employees. They highlight a specific nanny in their community each month in their Facebook Nanny Spotlight.

ANFU has also received the following accolades:

  • Voted BEST NANNY SERVICE by Parent Map readers.
  • A Nanny for U was the recipient of Parent Map’s 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 Golden Teddy
  • Award in their Parenting Resources Category and a finalist in their 2011 Doula category.
  • Red Tricycle subscribers voted A Nanny for U is one of the most awesome agencies in the area and voted A Nanny for U as a finalist in their 2011 and 2013
  • Totally Awesome Awards in their Childcare Agencies and Resources category.
  • A Nanny for U is the childcare provider for the Sounders and Seahawks organizations providing childcare to players’ children during home games.

A Nanny for U has sought out ways to support others-their nannies, their families and their community at large. They don’t seek fame or praise from their peers or their community; they do it because they believe it is the right thing to do. However, APNA Honors now gives an opportunity for agencies like A Nanny for U to be recognized for all they do for their community.

Congratulations A Nanny for U.
