Biography

Erin Carroll-Manning is the founder of Gentle Giraffes and a trained Master Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), trained Postpartum Doula (PPD), Car Seat Tech, and lactation support specialist. In addition to these, she is also trained in Respectful Care for Newborns, Infants and Toddlers. Her 30 year career in the private child care sector began as a babysitter, moving on to being a mother’s helper, and finally to a professional nanny before deciding to specialize in newborns and support of the whole family during the crucial yet joyous time that characterizes the post-birth season. As a Master Newborn Care Specialist, Erin has completed a three-year Mentorship Program with Newborn Care Solutions, a highly selective and intense training program which specializes in newborn care education. She comes with substantial and unique expertise in all aspects of newborn care, parental education, and support, and her role is to help nurture newborns toward optimal growth and development while providing guidance and education for parents, and on occasion, the extended family as well. As a Postpartum Doula, she is trained to help moms recover from childbirth, manage household chores, laundry, and meal-prep, and to assist moms and their babies in getting to their doctor’s appointments, as well as anything else helpful in their postpartum recovery.

Gentle Giraffes is a full-service newborn care agency that prides itself in bringing top-quality newborn care and education to families anywhere from pre-birth right through to the weeks and months after babies are born. They are equipped to provide 24-hour baby care as well as overnight services, and serve families in the Greater Boston area, as well as the rest of New England and beyond.
