Growing Your Team | Making Your First Overseas Hire
Offshore hiring has continued to grow in popularity over recent years as agencies from around the country have begun to add overseas staff members to their internal teams. With inflation continuing to rise and record low unemployment, agency owners have been frustrated by the lack of qualified and motivated candidates (or lack of candidates at all) when they begin looking to grow their team. In contrast, agencies who have expanded their searches to include candidates living overseas have been delighted to find a large talent pool of highly qualified and educated individuals who are excited to work remotely for US-based companies. While larger companies have hired offshore for years, it’s still a fairly new concept for many small business owners and can bring with it a lot of questions. To answer those questions we’ve invited Clint Muhlenberg, founder of Level – Virtual Specialists, who has helped hundreds of businesses make their first offshore hire. He’ll discuss how to start, advise us on best practices, provide an overview of the ins and outs of hiring outside of the country, and share his best advice on navigating the world of remote hiring. If you’ve been thinking of growing your team this is a session you can’t afford to miss.
Clint Muhlenberg is the founder and CEO of Level – Virtual Specialists, a company specializing in recruiting and staffing virtual assistants in the Philippines. As an accomplished operations leader and business consultant, Clint has directly and indirectly helped hire over 400 people throughout a variety of industries and careers. While consulting, Clint noticed a major gap in how Filipino recruiting agencies were run – with the working relationship mainly benefitting the employer and not the employee – and thus, Level was born. Clint’s mission, through Level, is to establish Filipino virtual assistants as true team members, develop long-term professional relationships, and foster the best environment for mutual growth. Outside of Level, Clint is also an active real estate investor and volunteers as a mentor to a college student.
