Fearless Allies: Becoming the Uncommon, Resolute Agency that Our Candidates Deserve

As the trusted experts to our clients and candidates, we possess a large position of authority in our communities. “With great power comes great responsibility,” and so now, what will we do with this influence? Considering the history of domestic workers while understanding its present residual effects, we will continue to explore your company’s capacity to be the initiator of change within your community, ensuring that the respect, dignity, and standards your candidates desperately deserve are accessible to them within your walls. As we collectively seek to make waves in our industry, come expecting practicals of how to refine and uphold the values of your agency, while readying yourself to be challenged, informed, uncomfortable, introspective, supported, and empowered on how to draw out and utilize your agency’s voice to further advance the advocacy of all carers, as a charged disrupter of the status quo.

Biography

Christa D. Nader is an advocate, educator, and the founder of KITH & KIN in New York City. Her agency’s namesake speaks to her grounding vision of creating kindred connections that feel innate and familial for nannies and families. After obtaining her Bachelors of Arts, over 3 years of teaching pre-k through 3rd grade, 10 years of nanny life, 4 years of teaching yoga, and 2 years of learning and planning a business, KITH & KIN was launched, despite her many doubts of this small-town girl’s ability to open a sustainable business in the biggest city in the U.S. Who knew! In 2017, Christa was quoted in the New York Times regarding a new state law for maternity leave for domestic workers, as well as in 2018 in an article regarding the formulation of the Lulu and Leo law. She has been interviewed for the podcast Yoga | Birth | Babies, for My Nanny Circle, and The Nanny Collaborative. This year, she joined the board of directors for the International Nanny Association, and is eager to serve our industry further.  Christa seeks to be curious, courageous, loyal, and kind, but in reality is a regular ol’ human, stumbling through life, clinging to fresh air upstate, walks with her dogs, and the listening ears and love within her family and friend circles. Come to say hi and share your story. Life is wild, and she is extremely grateful for the opportunity to teach, and learn from you.
