Hiring Overseas, Hiring Right: Ethical Remote Teams for Agency Owners

Everyone seems to have a virtual assistant in the Philippines. But very few agency owners know whether they’re hiring ethically, paying fairly, or building a remote team that’s actually designed to succeed.

If you’ve ever wondered:

  • Am I overpaying my staffing company?
  • Is my VA being compensated fairly?
  • Why isn’t this working the way I expected?
  • Should I hire direct instead?

…this workshop is for you.

Drawing on nearly a decade of experience matching remote professionals with business owners through direct hiring and behavioral assessments, this session goes beyond outsourcing buzzwords to reveal what actually creates successful, long-term overseas partnerships.

You’ll discover why so many remote working relationships fail before they ever have a chance to succeed, and why the problem is rarely the person you’ve hired. From choosing the right hiring model to understanding fair compensation, cultural expectations, onboarding, communication styles, and cybersecurity, this workshop provides a practical roadmap for building a remote team that strengthens your agency rather than creating more work.

Whether you’re hiring your first overseas team member, managing an existing virtual team, or evaluating whether your current staffing arrangement is truly serving your business, you’ll leave with the clarity and confidence to make smarter decisions moving forward.

Biography

Riah Gonzalez is the Founder and CEO of Linq Collective, a VA Matchmaking firm specializing in direct hire placements with experienced professionals in the Philippines. Linq opened as an operations agency in 2018, and as it grew, Riah faced the same challenge her clients do: too much to do, not enough of the right support. The hard part wasn’t finding qualified candidates. It was figuring out what made one the right fit when dozens looked equally qualified on paper. Seven years of placements taught her that the answer lives in how someone is wired to communicate, take ownership, and work alongside someone with a completely different style. That’s the foundation of her VA Matchmaking process and this session. Riah is a Certified Extended DISC Facilitator who helps business owners understand how they work, hire support with complementary work styles, and build remote teams that last.
